Biography
Prof. Blobel has been a pioneer in the digital transformation of healthcare, contributing significantly to eHealth, telemedicine, and digital health standards. His leadership in European Digital Health Projects, and authorship of countless policies, proposals and papers have been instrumental in advancing digital health globally.
His work provides vital frameworks for data integration, interoperability, and security of health care data. A prolific scholar, Prof. Blobel has authored and edited over 600 scientific papers and numerous books, while supervising a large number of PhD candidates worldwide.
As a representative in multiple international standards development organisations (HL7, ISO, CEN, IEEE, ASTM, SNOMED, OMG, etc.), he has significantly influenced global healthcare data standards- which has been crucial to the modernisation of health care data management.
Prof. Blobel continues to contribute to international academic and research collaborations, fostering innovation at the intersection of digital health and evidence-based medicine.
